FWP Approves Four Community Pond Projects

Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks recently approved $100,000 in funding for four projects to enhance angling opportunities at local ponds.

These projects are intended to improve the angler experience as well as fish habitat and survival. The funding will come from FWP’s Community Pond Program and is matched with $200,000 from outside sources.

The funded projects are located across eastern Montana and include: Harry’s Pond (Chinook) – Angler amenities will be established (parking area, walking path and latrines).

Paulo Reservoir (Glasgow) – The project will include road resurfacing, fishing piers, toilet improvements and vegetative seeding.

Simons Clark Fork Yellowstone Pond (Bridger) – This project will include dredging and repair to the headgate structure to maintain water levels.

Wadsworth Pond (Great Falls) – Improvements include bank stabilization to reduce erosion, establishment of vegetation and establishing safe angler access points.
