Lustre’s boys’ basketball team advanced into the district championship game with a 50-33 semi-final round victory over Circle on Thursday, Feb. 15.

The Lions took a 16-4 lead in the first quarter, but Circle bounced back to cut the margin to 20-17 at the half.

Lustre struck for 14 points in the third quarter for a 3426 advantage.

Johnslee Pierre led the Lions with 22 points. Terran Joseph added 12 points.

Also scoring for Luster were Clay Reddig with six, Cayden Klatt with five, Cam Reddig with three and Byron Ewing with two points.

Leading Circle were Donovan Gibbs with 12, Owen Beery with seven and Kash Ereaux with six points.

Lustre Christian’s boys’ basketball squad accounted for 37 points in the first quarter and defeated Frazer, 74-17, in the opening round of the District 3C tournament in Glasgow on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

The Lions led 37-3 at the end of the first quarter and 52-11 at the half. Lustre outscored Frazer by a 12-0 margin in the third quarter.

Reaching double figures for Lustre were Cam Reddig with 12, Johnslee Pierre with 11 and Joel Reddig with 10 points.

Rounding out the scoring were Brian Guedes with eight, Diek Olfert with seven, Terran Joseph with six, Hadden Olfert with six, Cayden Klatt with five, Clay Reddig with three, Byron Ewing with two and Nathan Fast with one.

Top scorers for Frazer were Gabriel Beston with six, Ty Fourstar with four and Cassius Smoker with three points.
