Optimist Club Announces New Project
The Optimist Club of Wolf Point announced last week a new program to help area students with educational costs.
The “Fill A Box” program aims to have residents donate enough school materials to fill the back of a pickup.
The Optimists plan to hold the first event in August, but they want people to start saving their potential donations now. The school materials could include “anything school-related,” such as pencils, paper, notebooks, hair clips or new or like-new clothing.
Local club members recognized National Optimist Day on Thursday, Feb. 1. The Optimists started in the United States during 1919.
The Optimists will hold their annual drive-thru dinner on Thursday, Feb. 15, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The pork loin dinner will include a baked potato, vegetable, roll and dessert.
Cost is $15 and only advance tickets will be sold.
Meals for the drive-thru dinner can be picked up at First Lutheran Church.
Tickets can be purchase from any Optimist member or by calling Carol, 406-6533020; Karen, 406-653-1064; or Gloria, 406-653-1044.
