Lady Wolves Come Back To Beat Harlem

 

The Lady Wolves came from behind to knock off Harlem, 46-42, on the road on Saturday, Feb. 3.

Wolf Point trailed by a 3532 margin at the end of the third quarter, but a basket off a rebound by Kashlyn Speak Thunder got the Wolves off to a good start in the fourth period.

Speak Thunder fired in a three-pointer to pull the Wolves to 38-37 with 4:52 left in the District 2B contest.

Wolf Point tied the game at 40-40 on a 15-footer by Keeley Blount-Henderson and a free throw by Juellz Bauer.

A basket off a rebound by Blount-Henderson put the Wolves up 42-40 with 2:31 left. After a steal by Speak Thunder, Bauer scored for a 44-40 advantage.

After Speak Thunder hit a free throw with 27 seconds remaining, Harlem cut the gap to 45-42 when Aaray Mount made two free tosses with 21 seconds remaining.

A free throw by Speak Thunder put the contest away at 46-42 with only eight seconds remaining.

Wolf Point’s top scorers were Speak Thunder with 15 and Blount-Henderson with 10 points.

Also scoring were Bauer with six, Brenna Blount with six and Karmyn Plain Feather with six points.

Emma Billmayer and Mount scored 16 points each for Harlem.

The Wolves will host Fairview on Friday, Feb. 9.
