Bulldogs Sweep Fusion
Bainville’s basketball squads swept league games against Richey/Lambert on Friday, Jan. 26.
In the girls’ contest, the Bulldogs used a strong third quarter for a 54-31 win.
Bainville led 9-6 after the first quarter and 18-12 at the half.
The Bulldogs then accounted for 14 points in the third quarter for a 32-16 advantage.
Bainville ran off 22 more points in the fourth quarter en route to the victory.
Top scorers for the Bulldogs were Elsie Wilson with 15, Tally Berwick with 12 and Brecklyn Pippenger with 11 points.
Also scoring were Hailey Berwick with six, Miah Pippenger with four, Lila Butikofer with two, Addison Hansen with two and Kendra Romo with two points.
Jolee Klempel and ShaeLyn Williams led the Fusion with eight points each.
Bainville’s boys jumped ahead early and downed Richey/Lambert by a 56-44 final.
The Bulldogs earned a 16-5 lead in the first quarter and held a 27-17 half-time advantage.
Bainville struck for 20 points in the third quarter for a 47-30 advantage.
Leading Bainville’s attack were Alex Strickland with 17, Sam Butikofer with 15 and Chuck Butikofer with 11 points. Also scoring were Reese Harmon with six, Cayden Boyd with four and Trevor Robertus with three points.
Ryan Eggert scored 19 points for the Fusion. Beau Mullin added 10 points.
