Red Hawks Battle Against Plentywood

Froid/Lake dropped two conference basketball games against Plentywood on Friday, Jan. 19.

Froid/Lake’s boys put up a good fight before losing to league leader Plentywood by a 61-55 final.

Plentywood led 30-24 at the half, but the Red Hawks closed the gap to 45-42 in the third quarter. Landon Kelm scored eight points and Mason Dethman added six points in the third quarter.

Dethman accounted for 10 points in the final period, but Plentywood picked up the victory.

Dethman finished with 32 points. Kelm scored 14 points. Also scoring were Nate Stentoft with six and Cody Olson with three points.

Leading Plentywood were Carson Solberg with 25, Landon Fickinger with 12 and Chance Klein with 10 points.

In the girls’ game, Plentywood won by a 43-22 final.

The Wildcats gained a 20--13 lead in the first half and moved ahead 27-17 in the third quarter. Plentywood struck for 16 points in the fourth period.

Brooklyn Nordwick led the Red Hawks with 11 points. Also scoring were Mara Salvevold with five, Jaeleigh Davidson with three and Addison Elvsaas with three points.

Leading Plentywood were Paityn Curtiss with 15 and Audrey Sampson with nine points.
