Lions Fall At Scobey

Scobey was able to gain the upper hand in the fourth quarter and edged Lustre, 5343, in a conference boys’ basketball showdown in Scobey on Saturday, Jan. 13.

Scobey held a 38-34 lead after three quarters of play and increased the gap to 44-34 with five minutes to play.

Lustre’s Terran Joseph scored at the 4:42 mark, but Scobey’s John Carney hit a three-pointer and Brekken Maher added a basket for a 49-36 margin.

Lustre’s Byron Ewing kept the Lions close with a basket, but Scobey’s Bram Handran then accounted for a threepoint play. A three-pointer by Cayden Klatt and a layup by Clay Reddig got the Lions as close as 52-41.

Clay Reddig led Lustre with 12 points. Joseph scored seven. C. Klatt, Ewing and Johnslee Pierre added six points each.

Also scoring were Cam Reddig with four and Prestyn Klatt with two Leading Scobey were Handran with 18 and Carney with 11 points.

Lustre will host Nashua on Friday, Jan. 19.
