FourStar Files For House FourStar Files For House

Wolf Point resident Lance Fourstar was one of the first candidates to file for election in the state on Thursday, Jan. 11.

Fourstar, who is seeking the House District 31 representative position, said he was the second person in line at the Montana Secretary of State’s office in Helena on the first day of filing.

“I’m very excited,” Fourstar said about the campaign.

The Democrat says he wants to receive input from voters throughout the district.

“I want to do as much outreach as I can,” Fourstar said. “But I need the district to reach out to me as well.”

He noted voters can send their questions or concerns to lance-4montana@gmail.com or call 406790-9503.

As a member of the Montana’s American Indian Caucus during the last legislative session, FourStar said he learned greatly about key issues including efforts for Missing or Murdered Indigenous People.

“We will continue to push those issues,” FourStar said.

He feels he has strong support as he noted his work registering voters and working on re-districting.

“I know our community, community members and community issues,” FourStar said.

Incumbent Rep. Frank Smith recently said that he intends to seek re-election to the position.

“I have all the respect in the world for Frank, but it’s time for me to step up,” FourStar said. “I’m looking forward to representing the people some day. Hopefully, it’s this term.”
