Froid/Lake Boys Win Game Over Thunder

 

Froid’s boys’ basketball scored a 52-30 home victory over MonDak during District 2C action on Saturday, Dec. 16.

The Red Hawks enjoyed a strong start with a 15-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Froid/Lake added 13 points in the second quarter for a 28-14 half-time advantage.

The Red Hawks struck for 17 points in the third quarter to increase the gap to 45-23.

Mason Dethman led the Red Hawks with 21 points. Nate Stentoft also reached double figures with 14 points. Joseph Robertson added eight points. Rounding out the scoring were Daniel Forizs with six, Cody Olson with two and Rylan Young with one point.

Thomas Arnson and Elliot Rudningen led the Thunder with nine points each.

In the girls’ game, the Thunder outscored Froid/ Lake by a 15-1 margin in the fourth quarter to win by a 4338 final.

After an 11-11 deadlock at the end of the first quarter, the Red Hawks scored 19 points in the second period for a 30-18 advantage.

Froid/Lake held a 37-28 advantage after three quarters of play.

Leading the Red Hawks with 10 points each was Mara Salvevold. Isabelle Nordwick and Brooklyn Nordwick scored six points each. Alexa Nelson and Lily Johnson each had five points. Also scoring were Jaeleigh Davidson with four and Keira Stentoft with two points.

Erika Christian scored 11 for the Thunder. Evelynn Lowes and Abby Lowes added nine points each.
