Bulldogs Earn Win Over MonDak

Bainville’s boys’ basketball team took control in the second half for a 38-28 road victory over MonDak on Friday, Dec. 15.

Down by a 13-12 margin late in the second quarter, the Bulldogs took the lead on a three-pointer by Alex Strickland. A drive by Strickland put the margin at 17-13 at the half.

Sam Butikofer accounted for Bainville’s first five points of the third quarter to put the Bulldogs ahead by a 24-15 advantage.

A three-point play by S. Butikofer put the margin at 27-15 with 1:37 left in the quarter. After a drive by MonDak’s Cade Else, Bainville’s Trevor Robertus scored for a 29-17 lead at the end of the period.

A three-pointer by Thomas Arnson pulled the Thunder to 10 points, but the Bulldogs responded with baskets by Strickland and S. Butikofer.

Ahead by a 34-25 margin, Bainville put the contest away on a three-point play by S. Butikofer and a free throw by Reese Harmon.

S. Butikofer finished with 24 points to lead Bainville’s offensive attack. Strickland added eight points.

Also scoring for the Bulldogs were Robertus with three, Cayden Boyd with two and Harmon with one.

Leading MonDak were Else and Arnson with nine points each.

The hot shooting of S. Butikofer led the Bulldogs to a 10-5 lead in the first quarter. The Bulldogs’ largest advantage in the first half was 12-5.
