Froid High School senior Nate Stentoft has earned recognition in several activities including football and Business Professionals of America during his high school days.

His list of involvement includes basketball, football, Business Professionals of American, Future Farmers of America and Explore America.

As a freshman, Stentoft qualified for the national BPA conference in the category of spreadsheet applications.

“Once you learn how to do it, it’s pretty easy,” Stentoft explained.

He has qualified for the state BPA conference each year and is aiming for success again this year. Stentoft and some other Froid BPA students are working on a podcast team video.

He is also looking forward to Explore America’s trip to Washington, D.C., and New York near the end of March.

Stentoft was recently announced as an All-State selection in football for the second straight season.

He noted that football is now his favorite sport. “I feel as I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten better,” he explained.

His highlight this football season was coming back from 29 points down to beat Chester/Joplin/Inverness, 79-75, in the quarter-final round of the playoffs.

In basketball, he was a second team All-Conference selection last season.

He is one of only two returning starters for the Red Hawks this basketball season. “I think we can make a pretty decent run,” Stentoft said.

In the classroom, his favorite class is government. He doesn’t have a favorite teacher.

He has been part of Froid’s school since his kindergarten year.

“Everybody is pretty nice and friendly,” Stentoft said of what he likes about Froid.

After high school, Stentoft plans to study accounting in college.
