Froid/Lake Falls Against Plentywood
Froid/Lake put up a good fight but lost to top-seeded Plentywood at the district volleyball tournament on Friday, Oct. 27.
Plentywood captured a 2522, 25-20, 25-16 victory.
Aces by Jaeleigh Davidson led the Red Hawks to a 9-7 advantage in the first game. The score was deadlocked at 12-12 until Plentywood moved out to a 23-15 advantage.
A serve by Davidson and a kill by Isabelle Nordwick kept Froid/Lake close at 2420. A block by Brooklynn Nordwick pulled the Red Hawks to 24-22 before falling by one point.
In the second set, the net play of Davidson and serving of Salvevold led the Red Hawks to a 6-1 advantage. After the Wildcats tied the score at 8-8, Froid/Lake responded with a kill by Lilly Johnson and an ace by Davidson. A kill by Salvevold kept the Red Hawks ahead 15-13.
The set was deadlocked at 16-16 and 19-19, but Plentywood then tallied five straight points en route to the second set win.
A kill by Salvevold put the Red Hawks ahead 12-11 in the third set. The Wildcats accounted for the next 10 points for a 21-12 lead.
Froid/Lake kept battling on a block by I. Nordwick and a tip by Salvevold before falling by the 25-16 final.
