Culbertson Council OKs Sketch Plans

The Culbertson Town Council approved sketch plans for two homes in the Wheatland Hills subdivision during their monthly meeting on Sept. 11. Also approved was an addition to Chris Newbill’s home.

Roads projects approved by the council will include resurfacing paving on Second Street East and First Avenue West and patching between Fourth Avenue East and Fifth Street East.

WWC Engineering’s Jeremy Fadness told the council that asphalt paving for the U.S. Highway 2 Project should be completed by Sept. 16. Concrete should be completed by Sept. 22. Work on streetlights will begin soon.

An MCEP infrastructure planning grant was approved for submission.

The council approved canceling the pending 2023 general election because nobody filed to oppose open positions. Minutes were approved for the Aug. 14 and 21 meetings, as were financials and claims for August.

A conditional use permit was approved for Laura Christofferson’s law office, which has relocated from Broadway Avenue to a residential address in town.

The CHS Homecoming Parade route was set for Sept. 22 beginning at 2 p.m. at the high school and proceeding down Broadway.

The next regular council meeting is set for Oct. 9.
