WPCO To Present Free Concert July 8
Thanks to the Wolf Point Community Organization, singer Terri Anne Strongarm will perform at the pow-wow grounds in Wolf Point on Saturday, July 8. Strongman is from Balcarres, Sask., Canada. She performs a variety of music, including country and gospel songs.
Her early achievements included winning the CKRM Big Country Talent Show, earning first in the Dakota Dunes Idol and taking first in the GX94 Yorkton Star Search. She was recognized as Youth Role Model in the Saskatchewan First Nations Circle of Honour Awards. She was picked for an exclusive SaskMusic showcase during the 2007 Canadian Country Music Awards.
She was nominated for the Aboriginal Artist of the Year award for Saskatchewan Country Music Awards in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
She has opened for artists including Charlie Major, Kalan Porter, Shane Yellowbird, The Road Hammers, Doug Kershaw, Crystal Shawanda and Patty Loveless.
WPCO chair Roxanne Gourneau said there will be no admission charge for the performance. Gourneau said the goal of the performance is to provide a drug- and alcohol-free setting where families can have a good time.
