Frontier School celebrated the advancement of 10 eighth-grade students during its graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 1.

The class of 10 graduates included Aydyn Azure, Amara Bates, William Benton, Francesca Crawford, Maya Deserly, Hailey Gray Hawk, Reilly Payne, Reilly Rees, Milayna Smoker-DeWitt and Kailayla Villaluz.

Class officers included Rees as president, Crawford as treasurer and Gray Hawk and Villaluz on student council.

Darla Warrior was the class advisor.

The class motto was from Anne Frank, “Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands.”

Guest speaker Heidi Mahler, a teacher for 26 years including 13 years at Frontier School, told graduates that grownups set them on the right path and will continue to support them. It’s up to the students to build their own character. She urged the students to take time to say thank you to the important adults in their lives.

She said the students have been making strides in the final forming of their character including communications, strength and being independent.

Mahler urged the students to use their skills for good and to never lose their sense of adventure.

Kris FourStar of the Wolf Point Community Organization presented each student with a $75 gift certificate.
