Library Plans Many Activities In April

April is D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) month, and there is lots going on at the library all month long. April 11 is library workers day and the week of the 23rd-29th is National Library Week. There will be book give aways and door prizes, so be sure to come visit.

The Golden Plains Federation will hold its next meeting at the Roosevelt Count Library on April 27, at 10 a.m. Library officials are very excited to be hosting a book talk by author Melody Weathermon for her new book The Adventures of Miss Tipsy Toes. Many Wolf Point residents may remember her as a teacher at Frontier School. It will be at the library on April 28 at 11 a.m.

Looking for a new read? Here’s just a few of our newest selections: Home on the Range books 1-7 by Rosie Bosse, this series comes recommended by patrons that have started reading it. It’s a historical western that starts in 1868 following the story of a young woman named Molly and a young cowboy named Lance on their way To Cheyenne.

Weyward by Emilia Hart, this book tells the stories of three women over five centuries. From 1942 to 2019 we follow Kate, Altha, and Violet through their stories of female resilience and strength.

The Black House by Carole Johnstone, a sinister mystery that takes place on a remote Scottish island. Maggie must try to find the truth of what happened many years ago on an Island she’s never stepped foot on before. As she gets closer to the truth her own life is in danger, how much is she willing to risk to learn what really happened.

In junior fiction we have the Winterhouse Series by Ben Guterson. Orphan Elizabeth Somer’s aunt Purdy and uncle Burlap send her to Winterhouse Hotel. Where she finds a magical book of puzzles that unlock a mystery involving the hotel owner and his sinister family.

For our youngest readers, I’m a Unicorn by Helen Yoon. A cute story about a cow born with one horn.

Fluffy McWhiskers Cuteness Explosion by Dan Tavis is a story about a kitten so cute you might just explode if you see it.
