Red Hawks Score Victory Over Savage

The Froid/Lake Red Hawks came from behind to edge Savage, 47-38, in District 2C boys’ basketball action in Froid on Friday, Jan. 13.

Savage, which entered the game undefeated, held a 34-28 advantage after three quarters of play.

The Red Hawks accounted for 19 points in the final period to earn the victory. Mason Dethman struck for 13 points in the quarter. Patton Bighorn added four points.

Dethman finished the contest with 14 points. Bighorn also reached double figures with 13 points.

Rounding out the scoring were Caden Kelm with five, Landen Kelm with two, Nate Stentoft with two and Max Engelke with one.

Hunter Sanders and Sayer Erickson led Savage with 12 points each.

The Red Hawks gained a 10-4 lead in the first quarter and held a 23-16 half-time advantage. Erickson scored 10 points in the third quarter as the Warriors took a 34-28 advantage.
