Area Wrestlers Ranked In State Poll

Several area wrestlers were ranked in the latest Class B state wrestling poll. Mason Garfield of Wolf Point ranks third at 205 pounds. The top two ranked wrestlers are Glasgow’s Kyler Hallock and Huntley Project’s Stran Selman. Jase Frederick of Poplar ranks third and teammate Navarjo Escarcega is fifth at 120 pounds. Red Hawks Sweep Non-Conference Contests Against Frazer Squads

Froid/Lake swept both home basketball contests against Frazer on Saturday, Jan. 22. In the boys’ game, the Red Hawks won by an 80-12 final. Froid/Lake gained a 32-4 lead in the first quarter. Mason Dethman and Javonne Nesbit each scored 11 points in the opening quarter. The Red Hawks increased the margin to 54-7 in the second period. Ashdyn Hobbs hit seven points in the quarter.

Highlights included Kameron Reum with a 3-0 record and Jacob Berger going 2-0 for the day. Posting 1-0 marks were Jazmin Gorder, Angelina Escarcega, Jase Frederick and Precious Keiser. Gage Berg had a record of 3-1 during the mixer.

Bainville Girls Lose To Plentywood

Bainville’s girls basketball team lost to league-leading Plentywood by a 64-21 final on Friday, Jan. 21. The Wildcats led 18-10 at the end of the first quarter and by a 38-10 half-time margin. Plentywood then outscored the Bulldogs by an 18-6 margin in the third quarter. Lakyn Rabbe scored seven points to lead Bainville. Montana State University has announced its undergraduate honor rolls for fall semester 2021. There are two MSU honor roll lists: the president’s list and the dean’s list. To be eligible for the lists, students must be enrolled in at least 12 college-level credits. This honor roll list was current as of Jan. 14 and includes all registration corrections or grade changes processed to that date.
