Shannon Erin Lezard, 48, of Poplar died Sept. 9, 2022, in Poplar. She was born Dec. 18, 1973, to Dave and Linda Lezard in Omak, Wash. She loved all of her Washington family and was proud of where she came from. The family moved to Poplar in 1982 and that’s where she called home for the remainder of her life. She played volleyball, basketball and track while attending Poplar High School. She worked at the IHS, Buckhorn, HPDP, City of Brockton and ASRWSS. She had a strong, funny personality always cracking jokes, laughing and fun to be around. She loved to go cruising and listening to music. She loved to cheer on her team the Minnesota Vikings, always sporting purple and gold. She made a lot of friends in her many jobs and places she had been. She is survived by her children, Jay, Daniel and Davey; three grandchildren; sister, Mary Hilliard; and parents, Dave and Linda Lezard. She was preceded in death by a son, Ryan; and sister, Dana. Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 16, at the Poplar Cultural Center with interment at the Chelsea Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with arrangements.

Lawrence Heinrichs

Lawrence Wayne Heinrichs (Larry), age 81, passed away Sept. 15, 2022. Larry was a retired information technology professional. Born in Wolf Point, Mont., he lived in the Denver, Colo., area between 1967-2001, then in Glenwood Springs, Colo. He was the loving husband of Carol Heinrichs and leaves behind his sons Bruce (Siri) and Brian (Debbie) Heinrichs and Carol’s children Kim (Wes) Ward, Melissa, Joe, and Amanda Christopher. Grandchildren are Layne, Maya, Seth, Benjamin, Elin, Anna, Leila, Jacob and Aylee. He has one great-grandchild, Ryder. Surviving siblings are Gene (June) Heinrichs, Marlene (Phil) Blankenship and Jani (Bruce) Johnston. His sister Judith (Bill) Harmon passed in 2016. Larry was an Army veteran and had a variety of careers/ interests over his lifetime, including massage therapy, writer, business owner, social worker, software developer, truck driver and teacher. He also enjoyed singing and was a member of several choirs. His environmental interests included the Sierra Club, Glenwood pedestrian promotion, river preservation and park development. A celebration of life gathering will be held near his birthday next summer. He also has a niche overlooking the Roaring Fork River at the Farnham-Holt Funeral monument in Glenwood Springs. Kevin Sherman

Kevin Sherman


Kevin Charles Sherman died Aug. 26, 2022, at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 27, 1963, in Stanley, N.D., to Clarence and Mabel Sherman. The family lived in several places following Clarence’s work in the oilfield before finally settling in Williston, N.D., where Kevin graduated from high school in 1981. He lived in various places but eventually moved to Sparks, Nev., where he met and married Faye. Jacob was born to this union. Kevin worked in several warehouses in Nevada, including a warehouse where he packed cell phones for shipment. After Clarence’s death, Kevin moved to Medicine Lake to help care for Mabel and to be closer to his son. Kevin is survived by his son, Jacob; siblings, Tracey Tormaschy, Nancy Balikian and Tim Sherman. Services were held Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Medicine Lake Lutheran Church with Pastor Johnette Grefe officiating. Interment was at the Medicine Lake Cemetery.
