Cowboys Battle Well Against Lustre
Culbertson’s boys’ basketball squad put up a good fight before losing to a strong Lustre Christian team, 54-41, in Culbertson on Saturday, Dec. 17.
The undefeated Lions gained a 12-7 during the first quarter of action. The Cowboys responded with 13 points in the second period to cut the margin to 22-20 at the half.
Lustre accounted for 18 points in the third quarter to earn a 40-30 advantage.
The Lions then outscored Culbertson by a 14-11 margin in the final period.
Top scorers for Lustre were Cayden Klatt with 18 and Braden Ewing with 12 points.
Also scoring for the Lions were Bryon Ewing with eight, Elijah Lenihan with seven, Jasiah Hambira with four, Clay Reddig with three and Alex Chen with two points.
Reaching double figures for Culbertson were Payton Perkins with 13 and Mo Bighorn with 10 points.
Rounding out the scoring for the Cowboys were Bridger Salvevold with seven, Colin Avance with six, Shea Scott with four and Donte Eagleboy with one point.
