Bainville Noise Ordinance Gets Second Reading
The Bainville Town Council held its regular meeting Monday, Dec. 19. A second reading was given a pending town noise ordinance. The second reading featured amended language with additional exemptions to the ordinance, including maintenance buildings and certain access roads. The ordinance does not exempt residential housing owned by the school.
During committee reports, it was indicated that the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office issued two citations in Bainville during November and one in December.
According to clerk Nikki Rogers, a water engineer contracted by the town recently confirmed that Bainville’s American Rescue Plan Act funding has been approved. A resolution was passed adopting support for the 2022 legislative resolutions of the Montana League of Cities and Towns.
Discussion was held regarding a proposed late fee for late payments on utility bills. Talks are ongoing. Talks are also ongoing regarding the possibility of setting up a separate fund for donations to the cemetery for maintenance and labor costs.
A resolution was passed adopting certain days to shoot fireworks within town limits. Residents may set of fireworks from sunset on Dec. 30 until 11:59.59 Jan. 1.
The next meeting is set for Jan. 9 at 7 p.m.
