Poplar Wrestlers Earn Titles at Glasgow Meet


Poplar’s wrestlers came away with two individual championships during the Glasgow Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 10. Angelina Escarcega won the title in the girls’ division at 107 pounds. The sophomore earned pins in her first four matches of the tournament.

Escarcega then pinned Simm’s Hayley Petersen in 4:19 for the title.

Blake Follette earned the championship at 114 pounds in the girls’ division.

After pinning Big Sandy’s Leah LePinnet in 1:28, Follette edged Choteau’s Arionna by a 6-4 decision. Follette outpointed Harlem’s Izzy Baker, 10-7, in the title match.

Poplar’s Alora Parshall placed second at 120 pounds in the girls’ division. Parshall won her first three matches on a major decision and two pins. She lost on a pin in her fourth match, but Parshall pinned Roundup’s Madison Stops in 1:44 to end the day.

In the boys’ division, Travis Pribbernow won one match on a pin at 170 pounds.
