Cowboys To Open Playoffs At Home

The Culbertson Cowboys will host Lone Peak for a football clash in the first round of the playoffs at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29.

Lone Peak took fourth in the south central conference behind Drummond, Ennis and Cascade.

Culbertson enters as the top seed from the Eastern division.

The Cowboys are looking for better results after dropping their first-round playoff contest a season ago.

“We have grown quite a bit from last year,” Culbertson Coach Brian Manning said.

He explained that the Cowboys were physically and mentally tired after the regular season schedule last year.

“We’re a lot stronger mentally,” Manning said. “They didn’t have that kind of success before last year.”

If Culbertson defeats Lone Peak, the Cowboys will host either Forsyth or Superior in the second round.

Other first-round games feature Drummond/Philipsburg against Park City, Belt against Charlo, Joliet against Cascade, Fairview hosting Fort Benton, Ennis taking on Chinook and St. Ignatius playing Circle.
