Red Hawks Have Win Streak Snapped
The Froid/Lake football program’s 24-game winning streak came to an end at Broadview/Lavina, 52-6, on Friday, Sept. 2.
“It’s only one game,” Froid/ Lake Coach Michael Reiter said. “It’s a wake-up call for us.”
The coach noted that Broadview/Lavina is a solid team, but the contest doesn’t count in the conference standings. Froid/Lake trailed 40-0 at the half.
The only touchdown for the Red Hawks came on a 55-yard pass from Joseph Robertson to Jacob Martensen in the third quarter.
“Our young JV guys came in and played awesome,” Reiter said. The Red Hawks return home to face Dutton/Geyser/ Stanford at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10.
