Bainville Falls Short In Away Game

 

The Bainville Bulldogs were outscored by Chester/ Joplin/Inverness, 45-20, in away six-man football action on Saturday, Sept. 3.

The Bulldogs fell behind by a quick 16-0 margin in the non-conference contest.

“We dug ourselves a hole and fought back to make it a one or two score game until the last quarter,” Bainville Coach Shawn Romo said.

Scoring the first touchdown for Bainville was Charles Butikofer on a 10-yard pass from Cayden Boyd in the second quarter. Alex Strickland kicked the conversion.

In the third quarter, Boyd connected with C. Butikofer on a 31-yard touchdown pass. Boyd hit Strickland on a 14-yard pass for a touchdown in the final period.

Romo said Logan Josephson played well defensively for the Bulldogs.

“The boys fought through a hot day,” Romo said.

Bainville will host Absarokee at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10. Absarokee has a 1-1 record for the season.
