Poplar’s girls’ cross country squad earned first place in the team standings during the Wolf Point Invitational on Friday, Aug. 26.

The Indians finished with 29 points at the season-opening meet.

Scobey took second with 46 points and Culbertson placed third with 77 points.

Jazmyn Carrywater led the Indians with a time of 23:52.86 for sixth-place honors. Reinita Irizarry finished seventh at 23:59.54. Mattie Falls Down placed eighth at 24:13.89.

Blake Follette was 10th at 25:04.81. Bailey Dupree placed 16th at 26:55.73. Alara Parshall took 47th at 36:46.42.

Plentywood’s senior Annie Kaul was the individual champion with a time of 20:48.81.

Leading Frazer was Alyssa Toce Blount with a time of 26:36.57 for 15th place.

Angel Nelligan took 21st at 27:45.45. Shakira Beston was 32nd at 30:25.41. Kalianna Toce Blount finished 35th at 31:04.55.

Brockton took fifth place in the team standings with 120 points.

Lucille “Lucy” Hart led the Warriors with a time of 28:02.39 for 22nd place.

Tamryn Bauer finished 31st at 30:10.54. Courtney Spottedwolf was 39th at 33:06.20.

Isabella Apple placed 46th at 35:47.23. Taylor Cummins took 49th at 38:33.74.
