Many Respond To Economic Development Survey

Officials from the Great Northern Development Corporation were pleased with the participation to an economic development survey this summer.

Tori Matejovsky, executive director of GNDC, said 383 surveys were received by the organization. Most of the responses came from Roosevelt County, “Our goal was 250,” Matejovsky said at a county commissioners’ meeting last week.

The information gathering from community members is a critical component of GNDC’s next five-year Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. The overall goal is to develop a plan based on community input that will shape the economic well-being, resiliency and quality of life in northeast Montana.

To capture as many opinions as possible, GNDC offered several options for community members to share their thoughts including an online survey and “meet and greet” opportunities with GNDC staff at community events in July and early August. The last stop was the Roosevelt County Fair on Friday, Aug. 12.

A drawing was held for four $50 gas cards on Monday, Aug. 15. The four winners have been notified.

GNDC has served the counties of Valley, Daniels, Sheridan, Roosevelt, Garfield and McCone for the past 26 years as an Economic Development District and Certified Regional Development Corporation.
