Wolves Looks For New Coach

The Wolf Point School District is now in the position of having to find a new head boys’ basketball coach.

School officials have received the resignation of Cameron McCormick. He was hired in June to serve as the basketball coach and a social studies teacher.

“We wish him the best of luck in the future, and we will move on,” Wolf Point’s athletic director Eric Peterson said. “We’re moving forward to find a new coach.”

A committee interviewed other candidates for the position before making the recommendation of hiring Mc- Cormick.

McCormick’s coaching history includes Lodge Grass’ girls’ basketball, Rocky Boy’s girls’ basketball, Northern Cheyenne’s girls’ basketball and Absarokee’s boys’ basketball.

Before the school board made the decision to hire McCormick, there was discussion about his many coaching stops. Trustee Bif Loucks questioned how invested McCormick will be in Wolf Point’s schools.

“As far as coaching and teaching, it’s a double whammy,” Loucks said. “I think he’s been at six schools in six years.”
