Wolf Point Chamber Announces Fundraiser For 100th Stampede

The Wolf Point Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture has announced a fundraiser to support the 100th Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede.

The “100 Bushels For the 100th” fundraiser encourages area framers to gift 100 bushels of grain to the Stampede. Participating elevators are Columbia Grain, EGT and CHS Farmers Elevator.

About 25 individuals attended a meeting to discuss ideas for the 100th Wolf Point Stampede that will be celebrated on July 6-8, 2023. Clint Long is doing research of having a commemorative buckle created in recognition of the 100th Stampede. The plan is to have 100 buckles made and be available for sale. Long mentioned maybe having an auction for numbers 1, 50 and 100.

Other ideas included having a car show, old-fashioned photos, day entertainment at the gazebo and a wagon train. There was discussion about having a pitch-fork fondue dinner with entertainment. Having the country showdown at that time was also mentioned.

The next meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, at the Elks Lodge to suggest ideas for the celebration.

“If you missed the first meeting, no problem show up for the second one,” Julie D’Ambrosio, executive director of the Wolf Point Chamber of Commerce, said.
