The Wolf Point Wolves competed at the very tough Elks Invitational in Glendive on Thursday, April 28.

The meet featured 36 teams and more than 800 athletes including those from the Class A ranks and North Dakota squads.

Wolf Point finished with 10 points for 19th place in the girls’ division and eight points for 16th place in the boys’ division.

The top five girls’ squads were Williston with 89 points, Plentywood with 82, Scobey with 58, Baker with 40 and Savage with 37.2 points.

Topping the boys’ field were Williston with 151, Glendive with 56.83, Dickinson Trinity with 50, Plentywood with 43 and Billings Central with 41.

Katelyn MacDonald led Wolf Point’s girls with a firstplace performance in the javelin. The junior accounted for a personal best of 116-1.

The 3200-meter run was a strong event for Wolf Point’s boys. Peyton Summers, a sophomore, finished in fourth place at 10:10.68 and Ethan Blount, a senior, placed fifth at 10:12.72.

In the 1600, Blount took seventh at 4:41.81 and Summers was eighth at 4:41.88.

Wolf Point will host the Gene Nelson Invitational on Friday, May 6.
