Poplar Competes At Fairfield/Belt Track Meet

Poplar’s girls accounted for seven points during the Fairfield/ Belt state preview track meet held in Great Falls on Saturday, April 30.

Seeley-Swan took first place in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions at the meet.

Jazmin Gorder led Poplar’s girls by placing third in the 3200-meter run with a time of 12:35.41. The senior finished seventh in the 400 at 65.50 seconds.

The 1600-meter relay team featuring Bailey Dupree, Reinita Irizarry, Jazmyn Carrywater and Jazmin Gorder placed sixth with a time of 4:38.35.

Irizarry took eighth in the 3200 at 13:58.92. Taking 10th were Carrywater in the 1600 at 6:22.10 and Kessee Erickson with a best of 86-09 in the discus. Highlights for Poplar’s boys included Kameron Reum taking ninth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 18.14 seconds.

Taking 12th were Jase Frederick in the 1600 and Kaniel Ricker in the 300-meter hurdles.
