Middle School Track Athletes Compete
Track athletes from Wolf Point, Poplar, Frazer, Frontier and Lustre were among the competitors during a middle school meet in Sidney on Friday, April 8.
Wolf Point scored 15.5 points in the eighth-grade boys’ division, 15 in the seventh- grade boys’ division, 31 in the eighth-grade girls’ division and a point in the seventh- grade girls’ division.
Top placers for the Wolves in the eighth-grade boys’ division included Sam Boysun with a second in the 100, Da’Shaun Jackson with a third in the shot put, Zandon Calder with a ninth in the discus, Brady Fourbear with an eighth in the 400 and the 400-meter relay team of Fourbear, Eli Graham, Jesse Reed and Boysun in eighth place.
Leading Wolf Point’s seventh- grade boys were Jaycee Hilkemann with a first in the 800 and fourth in the 1600, Malik Standing Rock with a sixth in the 400, Kashin Kizotte with a ninth in the discus and Conway Turcotte with an eighth in the shot put.
Highlights for Wolf Point’s eighth-grade girls included Marley MacDonald with a second in the shot put and a second in the discus, Kashlyn Speak Thunder with a sixth in the long jump, fourth in the 200-meter hurdles and a fourth in the 400, Navella Weeks with an eighth in the 200 and an eighth in the 100 and the 400-meter relay team of Speak Thunder, Addy Smith, Weeks and Karmyn Plain Feather in third place.
Leading Wolf Point’s seventh- grade girls were Addy Smith with a sixth in the 400 and eighth in the 100 and Makenzie Jackson with a seventh in the shot put, Poplar accounted for seven points in the eighth-grade boys’ division, eighth for seventh- grade boys and eight for eighth-grade girls.
Leading Poplar’s eighthgrade boys were Travis Pribbernow with a third in the discus, Keilan Erickson with a sixth in the discus, an eighth in the shot put and an eighth in the high jump, Raylondo Red Eagle with a ninth in the 1600 and 10th in the 800 and the 400-meter relay team of River Olson, Colton Dupree, Ryder Olson and Leighton Christiansen in 10th place.
Highlights for Poplar’s seventh- grade boys were Dane Moran taking ninth in the 1600, Jamerlyn Limberhand placing fifth in the 200-meter hurdles and the 1600-meter relay team of River Olson, Ryder Olson, Anthony Youngman and Colton Dupree placing third.
Leading Poplar’s eighthgrade girls were Cammie Martell with a third in the 1600 and ninth in the high jump, Braelyn Nordwick with a fifth in the high jump, Caidryn Archambault with an eighth in the 100-meter hurdles, Aliania Matuck with a seventh in the 1600 and the 400-meter relay team consisting of Nordwick, Archambault, Blake Follette and Martell.
Lustre scored 24 for eighthgrade boys and 24 points for seventh-grade boys, Placing for Lustre’s eighthgrade boys were Diek Olfert with a second in the triple jump, second in the high jump, a fourth in the 800 and seventh in the long jump, Nathan Fast with a ninth in the shot put and the relay team of Hadden Olfert, Fast, Prestyn Klatt and Diek Olfert in fourth place.
Highlights for Lustre’s seventh- grade boys included Klatt with a third in the 800, a second in the triple jump and a third in the 200-meter hurdles, Hadden Olfert with a seventh in the discus and Hadden Olfert with a fourth in the triple jump.
Lustre’s Lauryn Holzrichter placed eighth in the 200-meter hurdles and ninth in the triple jump for seventh- grade girls.
Frazer Scored
Highlights for Frazer included Bethany Hotomanie placing ninth in the discus for eighth-grade girls, Isabelle Even finishing ninth in the 200 for eighth-grade girls, the 400-meter relay team of Even, Maci Fourstar-Sibley, Elli Mail and Lola Romeron placing ninth and the 400-meter relay team of Bryce Even, Ronald Round Face, Luis Navarro-Spotted Wolf and Cassius Smoker taking 10th.
Frontier scored 21 boys for seventh-grade boys, eight points for eighth-grade girls and 11 points for seventh- grade girls.
Leading Frontier’s seventh- grade boys were William Benton with a third in the shot put and sixth in the discus, Daniel Merisio with a third in the discus and the relay team of Keynen Grandchamp, Merisio, Reilly Rees and William Benton in second place.
Highlights for Frontier’s eighth-grade girls were Baylee Hays with a sixth in the 1600 and a ninth in the 800, Kaylee Hays with a fifth in the shot put, Amya Martinez with a seventh in the shot put and an sixth in the discus and the relay team of Kaylee Hays, Angela Gautam, Baylee Hays and Kailayla Villaluz in fourth place.
Leading Frontier’s seventh- grade girls were Monica Uy with a third in the 100 and Francesca Crawford with a third in the discus.
