Lady Wolves Take Red Devils

The Lady Wolves cruised to a 55-21 home victory over Glendive on Friday, Jan. 14.

Wolf Point, which never trailed in the game, struck for the game’s opening six points on a drive by Josie Kolstad, a 12-footer by J’Elle Garfield and a basket by Jaylee Azure.

After Glendive fought back to 8-5, the Wolves hit the next six points on a short jumper by Sierra Hamilton, a drive by Garfield and a drive by Hamyanie Campbell.

A three-pointer by Haidyn Raining Bird put the margin at 17-7 at the end of the first quarter.

Two hoops by Campbell, a speedy senior guard, increased the gap to 21-7 to start the second period.

Wolf Point then struck with a basket by Azure, a three-pointer by Kolstad and a hoop by Raining Bird off an assist from Azure for a 28-7 lead. The Wolves enjoyed a 35-11 half-time advantage.

The play of Hamilton led the Wolves to a 41-15 lead midway into the third quarter.

Wolf Point ended the third quarter with a drive by Garfield, a shot by Adeia Erickson and a three-pointer by Garfield for a 48-17 advantage.

Garfield finished with 16 points to lead the Wolves. Campbell also reached double figures with 10 points. Kolstad, Raining Bird and Azure added seven points each.

Also scoring were Hamilton with four, Katelyn Mac- Donald with two and Erickson with two.

Glendive’s top scorers were Sari Murphy with five, Janr Harrison with four and Kadence Nissley with four.
