Dry Prairie Rural Water Plans Public Meeting

Dry Prairie Rural Water Authority will hold a public meeting at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 3, at its Culbertson office located at 5808 Highway 16 in Culbertson, regarding a potential rate increase.

The Dry Prairie Rural Water Authority board of directors considers it necessary to increase the water rates for all users, and proposes to increase the rates and charges by increasing the base rate by $3/EDU per month and the consumption rate by $0.57/1,000 gallons with an effective date of June 1. Pursuant to Montana Law MCA 75-6-326 (3) a public hearing must be advertised and held to gather testimony and input regarding the proposed increase in water rates and charges.

Joni Sherman, general manager, said more information will be provided to those who attend the public meeting.

After the rate hearing, the board of directors will determine whether to make the rate increase.

If you have any questions or comments prior to the hearing, contact Joni Sherman, general manager, at 406-787-5382.
