Poplar’s girls earned second in the team standings and Poplar’s boys placed seventh at the 26th annual Scottie Invitational held in Glasgow during the weekend.

The Indians captured second in the girls’ division with 57.5 points.

Miles City took first with 68 points.

Leading the Indians were two tournament champions. Angelina Escarcega defeated Simms’ Harley Wade for the title at 103/113 pounds. Cayana Adams defeated Baker’s Danica Shepherd for first place at 205/285 pounds.

Two other Poplar girls placed at the meet. McKenzie Smith earned third place at 152/170 pounds. Precious Keiser took fourth place at 138/145 pounds.

Poplar’s boys finished with 84 points for seventh place. The top three teams were Sidney with 232.5, Huntley Project with 166 and Glasgow with 123.

Navarjo Escarcega earned second place at 113 pounds for the Indians.

Jase Frederick took third place at 120 pounds.

Placing fourth were Mitchell Youngman at 145 and Jacob Berger at 285.
