Area Wrestlers Compete During Mixer In Wolf Point
Wrestlers from Wolf Point and Poplar each enjoyed success during a mixer held at Wolf Point High School on Thursday, Dec. 9.
Other teams at the competition were Glasgow and Sidney’s JVs.
During the first round of action, Wolf Point’s Joli Beston pinned Sidney’s Kurea Rosales in 36 seconds. Jordan Davis pinned a Sidney wrestler in 1:20 at 160 pounds. Mason Garfield pinned Glasgow’s Hunter Crum in 3:25 at 205 pounds.
Highlights for Poplar during the first round included Angeline Escarcega, Navarjo Escarcega, Jase Frederick, Mitchell Youngman and Jacob Berger all winning on pins. During the second round, Wolf Point’s Chance Smith won on a pin in 3:12 over Glasgow’s Crum at 205 pounds. Dropping tough matches were Beston and Davis.
Poplar’s Angelina Escarcega pinned Circle’s Rubin Nelson in 4:55. Dropping matches in the second round for the Indians were Lance Blackhorn and Precious Keiser.
Teams will compete at the Great Falls CMR Holiday Classic on Friday and Saturday.
