With a good amount of returning players, the Wolf Point Wolves are aiming for a strong campaign in 20212022.

Seniors on the team include Jack Sprague, Shastin Damon, Ethan Blount and Jaxon Azure.

Juniors who are returning letterwinners are Corey Martell, Kelby Bauer, Gaige Bushman and Kraven Silk.

“We have a nice class of juniors and seniors returning,” Coach Troy Blount said. “They have been in my system for a while now. We should be successful this year.”

Adding more athletic talent to the squad is transfer student Juliun Benson, who is a 6-0 junior guard. “He will be a nice addition to our team,” Coach Blount said.

The Wolves are expecting to be a force against all their opponents this season.

“We will be up-tempo and get after it,” Coach Blount said. “It should be an exciting season for the community, fans and players.”

When asked about the team’s biggest weakness, the coach said, the weakness is “to be determined.”

A lack of height could be a concern. “Where we lack a lot of size, we will make up for it with speed and quickness,” Coach Blount said.

The Wolves will open their season at home against conference rival Glasgow on Friday, Dec. 3. Wolf Point’s program features 23 boys this year.

The district tournament will take place in Glasgow on Feb. 17-19.

“I’m optimistic about the season,” Coach Blount said. “It’s a good group of boys, they work hard. It’s just exciting because they want to get better and have the work ethic. It’s a recipe for success.”
