My name is Carolyn Bighorn …. My name is Carolyn Bighorn ….

My name is Carolyn Bighorn Brugh and I’m currently seeking re-election for my 3rd term on the Tribal Executive Board. I was born and raised in the Brockton/ Ft. Kipp communities for most of my life. I’m a graduate of Brockton High School and have an AA in Human Services from the Fort Peck Community College. My parents are Alpheus and the late Doremis Bighorn of Brockton. My maternal grandparents are the late Norman and Vera Hollow and my paternal grandparents are the late Alpheus Sr and Josephine Bighorn. I’ve been married for 34 years to Jay Brugh and we have two children Jay Jr and Chelbi. I’m also a grandmother to 11 beautiful grandchildren.

I started working for the Ft. Peck Tribes 28 years ago at the Ft. Peck Tribal Health Department and continued working for the Tribal Health Department for the entire 28 years. Then in 2017, I decided to run for the Tribal Executive Board and was successfully elected.

My decision to run was to bring accountability and transparency to the enrolled members of the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes. I believe and continue to believe the Ft. Peck Reservation is the leader amongst all tribal nations.

As we move forward we must keep in mind that working together is the key component in building a strong future for our next generation. The foundation has already been set from our past tribal leaders and we need to continue to build upon that foundation to be successful.

It’s an honor and privilege to have served the Assiniboine and Sioux members for the past four years and I hope that I have been a strong and respectful representative. As you go to the polls on October 30th, I respectfully ask for your support and vote.

Thank You.
