Poplar Girls Place Second In Malta

Poplar’s girls placed second in the team standings during the Malta cross-country meet on Saturday, Oct. 9.

The Indians finished with 42 points. Havre topped the standings with 36 points. Glasgow took third with 45 points.

Glasgow’s senior Iris McKean was the individual winner with a time of 19:30.36.

Leading Poplar was sophomore Reinita Irizarry with a time of 22:08.34 for fifth place. Mattie Falls Down, a freshman, took seventh at 23:02.49.

Bailey Dupree, also a freshman, finished 10th at 23:31.70. Jazmyn Carry Water took 11th at 23:39.85.

Precious Keiser was 27th at 26:43.29. Tegan Escarcega took 38th at 27:50.01. Gracelynn Medicine Cloud placed 41st at 29:20.44. Rikki Belton was 42nd at 30:07.61.

Poplar’s boys placed third in the team standings with 68 points. Glasgow won with 16 points and Havre placed second with 52 points.

Glasgow’s junior Reed Larson was the individual winner at 17:15.21.

Poplar’s Jase Frederick finished fifth at 18:32.80. Geordy Medicine Cloud took 11th at 19:16.39.

Charles Smith placed 19th at 21:11.07.

Delray Lilley finished 23rd at 22:08.09. Finesse Headdress took 31st at 24:52.20.

Leading Frazer’s girls was Alyssa Toce Blount with a time of 25:23.48 for 22nd place. Shakira Beston took 29th at 26:51.38.

Angel Nelligan finished 34th at 27:10.21. Kalianna Toce Blount placed 35th at 27:20.07.

Frazer’s Ty Fourstar placed 35th at 27:03.91 in the boys’ competition.

Poplar will compete in Harlem on Friday, Oct. 15.
