Wolf Point’s volleyball team was unable to get its game untrack as the Wolves lost to Harlem in four games on Saturday, Sept. 25.

Harlem scored a 25-21, 2325, 25-20, 25-17, league victory.

In the first set, Wolf Point took a 21-19 lead on a block by Sierra Hamilton and a spike by Kaleah Miller-Toves.

The Wildcats, however, ran off the last six points of the first set including one on an ace by Taya Trottier.

The second set was deadlocked at 13-13 until Wolf Point moved ahead on a kill by Hamilton and an ace by Kylie Rodenberg. Wolf Point gained a 21-17 lead on an ace by Hamilton and a spike by Adeia Erickson.

Kills by J’Elle Garfield and Hamilton put the Wolves ahead 24-21 and they held on for the 25-23 victory.

In the third set, the Wolves battled back to grab a 20-19 lead as the hitting of Garfield highlighted the comeback.

Harlem accounted for the last six points of the third set including two on aces by Mylah Rider and one on a kill by Chloe Messerly.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 12-5 lead in the fourth set until Wolf Point responded with two kills by Garfield.

After Harlem gained a 20-9 advantage, the Wolves accounted for seven straight points on five kills by Hamilton and an ace by Rodenberg.

Kills by Messerly, Trottier and Jessica King led Harlem to the 25-17 win.

Hamilton finished with 15 kills, four aces and four blocks. Garfield had 12 digs.

Rodenberg accounted for 36 assists.

Leaders for Harlem included Messerly with 12 kills and Rider with four aces. King finished with 11 assists and six blocks.

The Wolves will host Poplar on Friday, Oct. 1. The match is Wolf Point’s cancer awareness pink night.
