Wolf Point Captures 25-0 Victory Over Colstrip Squad

The Wolf Point dominated action and downed Colstrip, 25-0, on the road on Friday, Sept. 10.

The victory was the Wolves’ first one in football since a win over Poplar in 2019.

“We played hard from start to finish,” Wolf Point Coach Anthony Red Cloud said. “The line set the tone on both sides of the ball. We were able to command the game the way we wanted to due to the improvement of play from our offensive and defensive line.”

The Wolves finished with 222 rushing yards and 40 passing yards.

Wolf Point struck in the first quarter on a five-yard run by Charles Page. Juliun Benson kicked the conversion for a 7-0 advantage.

In the second quarter, Wolf Point increased its lead to 13-0 on a two-yard run by Mason Garfield.

Corey Martell scored on a six-yard carry in the third quarter.

After an interception by Kraven Silk, Martell scored on a three-yard run in the fourth quarter.

“Our fullbacks Mason and Charlie were tough to tackle and took a toll on the defense,” Red Cloud said. “Corey added the speed and explosiveness we needed to be two dimensional on offense.”

Gaige Bushman also put together a solid game at quarterback.

“Gaige was able to complete passes as needed to round out the offense,” Red Cloud said.

On defense, Garfield had a forced fumble and a recovery.

“Defensively, we played fast and hard,” Red Cloud said. “The d line and linebackers provided constant pressure to help our defensive backs contain their receivers. It was an all-around solid game from start to finish on both sides of the ball from the team.”

The Wolves will travel to Roundup on Friday, Sept. 17.
