Stacey Summers is the new head coach for Wolf Point’s cross-country, but she is anything but new to the program.

After all, she served as the Wolves’ head coach in 2013. She began being an assistant coach in 2003.

“It’s good to be back coaching again,” Summers said during the team’s first practice on Friday, Aug. 13. “We have a lot of state contenders coming back.”

She was approved as the program’s head coach during last week’s school board meeting.

“I just decided to step up. I have done a lot of volunteering for years,” Summers said.

She and her family take part in many running events throughout the year.

“I love coaching and running,” Summers said.

Assistant coaches include Cristine Moore, Hannah Struttman and Edwin Mowoh.

The Wolves will open their season with a home meet on Friday, Aug. 27.
