Badlands Celebration Coming This Weekend
At press time, Badlands Celebration is set for the Brockton powwow grounds Friday, July 30, through Sunday, Aug. 1.
Jourdan Hoops-Lovan told the Northern Plains Independent that Friday’s grand entry will take place at 7 p.m. Grand entries for Saturday and Sunday will be held at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Payouts include Golden Age and Adults, $500, $300, $200; Teens: $125, $75, $50; Juniors: $100, $50, $25; Specials: Spottedbull candle light ceremony, cowboy special in memory of Leland Spotted Bird; junior girls fancy special, Gracie Lambert; teen girls fancy, Jasalyn Lambert; tiny tot special, Aaliyah Robert; tiny tot special, Brayan Boyd; tiny tot special in memory of Dolly Stark; men’s traditional, Red Sky Starr and teen girl hat and boot special, Kahloni Hoops.
All vendors must be vaccinated, according to Hoops-Lovan. Masks and hand sanitizer will be available to all.
