Wolf Point Drops Away Contests

The Wolf Point Yellow Jackets dropped both games of a league double-header in Laurel on Saturday, June 5.

The Dodgers won the first game by a 25-0 final. Laurel scored 14 of its runs in the second inning.

Having Wolf Point’s four hits were Preston Swenson, Landon Young, Terry Allmer and Andrew Dschaak.

Pitching for the Yellow Jackets were Charlie Page and Dschaak.

Laurel stopped Wolf Point, 18-0, in the second contest.

The Dodgers struck for 11 runs in the first inning and seven runs in the second frame.

Landen Peak pitched a no-hitter in the five-inning game. He accounted for eight strike-outs.

Pitching for the Jackets were Trevin Boysun, Logan Brown, Swenson, Mitchell Youngman and Canyon Casterline.

Wolf Point lost two road games against the Miles City Mavericks on Sunday, June 6.

Miles City won the first contest by a 14-1 margin.

Wolf Point coach Ray Ostby said the pitching of Canyon Casterline against Miles City was a highlight of the weekend.

The Jackets gained a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Preston Swenson singled and scored.

The Mavericks went ahead with three runs in the first and another run in the second. Miles City added five runs in both the third and fourth innings.

Terry Allmer led Wolf Point with two hits.

Miles City won the second game by a 20-2 final.

Swenson and Griffin Azure scored Wolf Point’s runs.

Wolf Point will play at Glendive on Monday, June 14, and at Froid on Tuesday, June 15.
