Wolf Point’s boys tied with Glasgow for top honors at the Gene Nelson Memorial Track Invitational in Wolf Point on Friday, May 7. Each squad finished with 89 points.

The Wolves will next compete at the District 2B meet in Wolf Point on Saturday, May 15. Action will begin at 9 a.m. The District 3C track meet will take place at the same time.

The district championship in the boys’ division is expected to be a close race between Glasgow and Wolf Point. Glasgow and Malta are the favorites in the girls’ division.

Wolf Point’s boys came away with three first-place honors during the Gene Nelson Memorial Track Invitational.

Peyton Summers, a freshman, finished first in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:02.54. Zander Ackerman, a senior, earned first in the 3200 at 10:28.38. The 400-meter relay team consisting of Kaholo Toves, Mason Garfield, Maddox Reum and Austin Wilson took first in 46.85 seconds.

Taking second were Ackerman by clearing 5-6 in the high jump and Summers by running the 3200 in 10:40.97. Wilson finished second in the 100 at 11.62 seconds.

Placing third were Wilson at 55.07 in the 400 and Kholby Spotted Wolf in 10:41.65 for the 3200.

Toves finished fourth in the 200 at 24.20 and fourth in the 100 at 11.69. He was sixth in the triple jump at 35-02.

In the 1600, August SpottedWolf placed fifth at 2:18.04 and Ethan Blount took sixth at 2:19.31. Blount placed fourth in the 3200 at 10:52.19.

Garfield earned fourth in the shot put at 40-05 and fourth in the discus at 112-02.
