Strong showings by Jasiah Hambira and Tiara Whitmus highlighted the day for Lustre Christian’s track athletes during the Gene Nelson Memorial Invitational in Wolf Point on Friday, May 7.

Hambira, a sophomore, cleared 6-0 for top honors in the high jump. He placed second in the 200 (24.08), fourth in the 400 (55.29) and sixth in the long jump (18-01).

Whitmus, a senior, took second in the discus at 99-04 and fourth in the shot put (3105).

Other highlights for the Lions included Alexa Reddig taking seventh in the 100, Aubri Holzrichter taking ninth in the 800, and Cayden Klatt being in the top nine for the 800, 1600 and 3200.

The district meet is scheduled for Saturday, May 15, in Wolf Point.

Top boys’ teams are expected to include Scobey and Hinsdale.

Teams anticipated to battle for the girls’ title include Scobey, Hinsdale, Saco and Whitewater.
