Ackerman Wins Three Events During Track Meet in Great Falls
The Wolf Point Wolves put together a strong performance by scoring 59 points for second place in the boys’ division at the Fairfield/Belt Invitational in Great Falls on Saturday, May 1.
Fort Benton’s boys topped the team standings with 89 points at the track meet. Seeley- Swan scored 59 points to tie Wolf Point for second place.
Zander Ackerman was a triple winner for the Wolves. The senior earned first in the 800 (2:01.90), 1600 (4:36.83) and 3200 (10:27.74).
Peyton Summers, a freshman, finished second in the 3200 at 10:39.65. Kholby SpottedWolf took third at 10:40.12 and Ethan Blount finished fourth at 10:49.64. Blount also placed fourth in the 1600 at 4:56.72.
Austin Wilson, a senior, finished third in the 100 at 11.97 seconds and sixth in the 400 at 54.35 seconds.
In the girls’ division, Wolf Point tallied 28 points for seventh place. Top teams were Fort Benton at 74, Seeley- Swan at 70 and Conrad at 56.5 points.
Jewel Olson finished first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.68 seconds. The senior placed second in the 400 at 61.92 and fifth in the 100 at 13.99.
Katelyn MacDonald earned third in the javelin with a best of 107-09.
Hamyanie Campbell finished fifth in the 1600 at 6:06.55.
Other highlights for the Wolves during the day included Campbell taking seventh in the 800, the 400-meter relay team taking seventh, Summers taking seventh in the 1600, SpottedWolf taking eighth in the 1600 and Mason Garfield taking eight in the shot put.
Wolf Point will host the Gene Nelson Memorial Invitational Track Meet on Friday,
May 7.
