Wolves Lose Contests On The Road

Wolf Point dropped boys’ basketball games at Baker and Harlem during the weekend.

The Wolves lost by a 59-48 final in Baker on Friday, Jan. 9.

Baker’s largest lead in the contest was 12 points. The Wolves shot 29 percent from the field in the game.

The Spartans hit 21 of their 29 free-throw attempts. Wolf Point was four for eight from the line.

Wolf Point Coach Troy Blount said the Wolves played well at times against Baker.

“We couldn’t get over the hump,” Blount said.

Corey Martell scored 10 points to lead Wolf Point.

Harlem outscored the Wolves, 80-57, on Saturday, Jan. 9.

“Harlem is a seasoned team,” Blount said. “We had some good runs. We had a good run at the end of he second quarter.”

The Wolves trailed by a 34-22 margin at the half.

Top scorers for the Wolves included Zander Ackerman with 14, Kraven Silk with 10 and Jack Sprague with 10 points.

“We’ve got good potential, but we need to become more consistent,” Blount said.

The Wolves will head to Scobey for a non-conference game on Saturday, Jan. 16.
