Poplar Girls Fall Short Against Malta
The Poplar Indians lost both matches during a double- header against Malta on Friday, Oct. 16.
Malta won the first match by a 25-11, 25-17, 25-21, margin.
The second match was earned by Malta by a 25-16, 25-13, 25-14, final.
“We haven’t done any matches for a month,” Poplar Coach William Bemer said. “We were kind of rusty.”
Poplar’s leaders in the first match against Malta included Macey Stump with five aces and eight kills.
Morgen Nordwick finished with seven digs and four blocks. Having five assists each were Jazmyn Gorder and Keandra Martell.
Dusti Maroteek had eight kills in the second match.
Martell served five aces and had five assists. Stump had four blocks. Nordwick finished with five digs.
The Indians will host Wolf Point on Thursday, Oct. 22. Poplar travels to Harlem for a double-header on Friday, Oct. 23, and to Glasgow for a double-header on Saturday, Oct. 24.
