The Wolf Point community and volleyball team made a point to think about health during the home matches against Malta on Saturday, Oct. 17.

The volleyball program conducted its annual Pink Night for breast cancer awareness during the day. All proceeds from the event will go to the Northeast Montana Health Services’ radiology department.

In other years, players visited area businesses to request silent auction donations. Because of social distancing concerns, parent Janice Wemmer-Kegley made the contacts.

“They donated items and we put them up for silent auction,” Wemmer-Kegley said.

She noted that three individuals donated quilts for the auction.

Another part of the event was people paying $1 for each serve during a serving contest held between matches. There wasn’t a baked sale this year because of virus concerns.

“I feel everybody has really been good to make sure we were successful,” Wemmer- Kegley said. “We did pretty good for doing it at the last minute.”
